About Poplar Farm Restaurant, Skegness
Poplar Farm first opened its doors as a restaurant in 1984. At that time, John and Paul owned a static caravan in Skegness and on one of their stays visited Poplar Farm Restaurant with friends to celebrate Johns Birthday.
So taken with the location and atmosphere, they asked the owners to get in touch if they should ever consider selling the restaurant. The very next day, that conversation took place and shortly after, John and Paul took over Poplar Farm and the rest is history.
That was over 21 years ago and the restaurant is as popular as ever. John and Paul believe that Poplar Farm is probably the only restaurant in the area that has been in the same hands for so long.
Celebrities too, are regular visitors; Danny La Rue performed the opening ceremony, Dorothy Squires held a birthday party at Poplar Farm and recent visitors include Duncan Norvelle, Bobby Davro and Royal Butler Paul Burrell, who held a book signing luncheon on the premises.
Jane McDonald is a regular visitor as well as local Comedian, Sid Dennis, but of course all visitors are special to us. |
